PYBL HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PROJECT PROGRAM
Each year our League provides the opportunity to help selected Poway High School students work on their senior projects in order to meet their graduation requirements. PYBL realizes the importance of these senior projects and will help out when it will serve as a benefit to the student and to the League.
The senior project candidate may help in the following ways:
- Team head coach
- League Photographer
- League Statistician
- Sponsorships
- Other capacities as deemed necessary and approved by the League
The Program requirements are:
- The approval of the high school senior project advisor is required
PYBL must be familiar with the character of the student and confident that the candidate will uphold the integrity and ethics of our basketball program.
- The candidate must have parental supervision at all times at all games, practices and team meetings/events.
- As a head coach, the candidate must be familiar with PYBL, have an understanding of the game of basketball and can contribute significantly to teaching fundamental basketball skills.
- If working directly with the players, the candidate is subject to the same background checks and fingerprinting requirements of all PYBL coaches.
- As a head coach, the candidate will be assigned to the lower grade levels, usually grades 4 through 6. The male candidate will be assigned to a boys’ team and female students will be assigned to a girls’ team. The candidate will be assigned to a grade level based on the coaching needs of the League. The candidate may not pick their grade level and may not coach a high school level team.
- The candidate must uphold the character and ethics of our basketball program and, as a head coach, must do everything to ensure a safe, enjoyable learning experience for the players.
- As head coaches, they will be the focal point for their team and will receive all pertinent and relevant information from the League officials. The coaches will be responsible for disseminating this information to the players and parents in a responsible and timely fashion.
